40 years of expertise dedicated to protection!
Since 1985, GREMTEK has been supporting industrial customers with protection, insulation and identification solutions for cables, harnesses and components.
Among them, heat shrink tubing remains one of our signature products — a symbol of our expertise and our ability to adapt materials to the needs of every industry.
But how does it work?
A heat shrink tube is an extruded polymer tube (PE, PVC, elastomer, PVDF, FKM, silicone, FEP, PTFE, PFA, etc.) that has been cross-linked, giving it a memory shape.
The tube is then heated and mechanically expanded to increase its diameter, before being cooled down to stabilize this expanded shape — the form in which it is delivered to the customer.
When reheated (typically between 90 °C and 250 °C, depending on the material), the tube returns to its original extruded diameter, tightly fitting around the substrate and providing:
- Electrical insulation,
- Mechanical and chemical protection,
- Enhanced sealing (with or without internal adhesive),
- Adaptation to complex shapes,
- And, in some cases, identification functions through printable or colored versions.
Specific features of certain tubes
Our expertise covers a very wide range of constructions:
- Internal adhesives: hotmelt EVA, PA, or other technical blends, depending on the required adhesion and bonding strength.
- Internal grooves: allow trapped air to escape during recovery — ideal for rubber hoses or elbows.
- High longitudinal shrink (LC): the tube also contracts in length, ensuring perfect conformity on tight bending radii.
- Variable wall thickness: from ultra-thin to extra-thick, covering applications from lightweight protection to heavy-duty insulation.
- Special formulations: halogen-free, flame-retardant, UL-qualified or custom-tested to meet specific customer standards.
If a product is not yet qualified, our teams can initiate the necessary validation process to meet your specifications.
Certified and compliant products
Our GREMTUBE ranges cover a broad spectrum of industrial applications and are certified according to key standards:
- UL224 (electrical and mechanical properties)
- UL94 (flammability rating)
- EN 45545-2 (railway applications)
- They also comply with RoHS / REACH requirements and the specifications of major OEMs (automotive, rail, defense, energy, etc.).
Our brands around heat shrink tubing
At GREMTEK, the world of heat shrink tubing is built around several complementary brands, each dedicated to a specific purpose.
GREMTEK designs not only its products, but also its brands. Each range is the result of an in-house process of development, innovation and qualification led by our R&D team to meet the most demanding industrial requirements.
- GREMTUBE: complete range of heat shrink tubes for protection and insulation.
- GREMARK: identification and marking sleeves, available in flat and ladder formats.
- GREMSHAPES: molded heat shrink parts (caps, boots, transitions, etc.).
- GREMSEAL: heat shrink solder and connection systems (solder sleeves, connectors, etc.).
- GREMTAPE: heat shrinkable tapes for protection, reinforcement, or local repair.
- GREMSPOOL: small spool packaging, ideal for workshops, prototyping, and limited series.
Our product categories at GREMTEK
GREMTEK heat shrink tubes are divided into several technical categories, depending on wall thickness, voltage range, and field of application.
- Thin Wall – Light duty
Thin-wall tubes (< 1.5 mm), mainly used for low voltage (≤ 600 V).
They provide reliable electrical insulation and lightweight protection for harnesses, connectors and low-stress areas.
Examples: GREMTUBE G53, GREMTUBE G55Z, GREMTUBE G63, GREMTUBE GK175…
- Dual Wall – Adhesive-lined
Thin-wall tubes with internal adhesive (EVA, PA or other blends), also used for low voltage (≤ 600 V).
They offer strong sealing and adhesion once recovered.
Examples: GREMTUBE G63A-3X, GREMTUBE G63A-4X…
- Medium & Heavy Wall – Thick wall
Thicker tubes (> 2 mm), available with or without adhesive.
Designed for harsh mechanical environments and applications up to 1000 V.
Examples: GREMTUBE GMW, GREMTUBE GMWA…
- Medium Voltage Tubing
Specific tubes for medium voltage applications (≤ 24 000 V), providing high dielectric strength and robust insulation.
Examples: GREMTUBE GBBM.
- Specialty Products
Range dedicated to special technical applications:
- GREMTUBE G31A: hydraulic brake hose protection
- GREMTUBE G54AZG: internal grooves for trapped air evacuation (rubber hoses, elbows)
- GREMTUBE G50TM: high longitudinal shrink (LC) for tight bending radius
- GREMTUBE GDR150: elastomer tubing for high flexibility
- GREMTUBE GSI: silicone tubing
- GREMTUBE GVI200: FKM tubing, high temperature & chemical resistance
- GREMTUBE GTEF / GTEF 4X: PTFE tubing
- GREMTUBE FEP-1.3 / FEP-1.6: FEP tubing
Complementary products:
- GREMTAPE TPG53: heat shrinkable tape
- GREMSEAL GSS-RS: solder sleeves
- GREMSEAL GRS: heat shrink connectors
- Moulded Parts
Molded then expanded heat shrink parts, designed for specific shapes (caps, transitions, boots, etc.).
Examples: GREMSHAPES GCAPS, GREMSHAPES GBOS.
- Identification
